Do you love to sing in the shower? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to perform on stage? Would you like more fun and excitement in your life? You are about to find it!Come along and visit one of our open rehearsals!
We welcome and encourage friends and visitors to all of our rehearsals! Weekly rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:45pm at the St Andrew Lutheran Church (in the small auditorium), located at 1353 Witte Rd, Houston, Texas 77055. Our handy video shows you just where to go. If you are visiting, we recommend that you come 5-10 minutes before 7pm so we can check you in, show you around, and answer any questions you might have.
Weekly Rehearsals
If you want to find out more about Houston Horizon Chorus, coming along to a weekly open rehearsal is a great idea! Visitors may choose to participate in rehearsal activities or just observe. Visiting a rehearsal as a guest comes with no strings attached!
A typical rehearsal will include:
Vocal warm-ups: we warm up our voices and brains with some breathing techniques, vocal exercises and harmony singing to develop our individual and ensemble vocal skills.
Repertoire coaching: we then spend the rest of our rehearsal applying these skills and techniques to our current music, learning new songs and working on existing repertoire. We may focus on tuning, harmony, musical expression, choreography and/or performance preparation.
